Car Reviews 2013 Chevrolet Trak

The 2013 Chevrolet Trax is a mini-SUV designed for city driving, or so it is advertised in Canada. The Trax is not slated to be sold in the US but in Canada and 140 other countries worldwide. According to General Motors (GM), most Americans like larger cars, so the Trax is being toured at a number of auto shows to test how well Americans will accept this compact SUV before introducing it to the American market. It is a compact car with a lot of storage room. According to one review, the Chevrolet Trax is not to be mistaken for the discontinued Chevrolet Tracker, but other reviews state that it is similar to the Tracker. The 2013 Chevrolet Trax has a bold outward design with most of the interior amenities of a higher priced car at a very reasonable price. There is a lot of storage area under the seats, and the front passenger seat can be let down for carrying larger items. The Chevrolet Trax is not designed for a large family with small children, but will work well for older children. The Trax seems to be a sport utility vehicle designed for routing about town on quick trips to the grocery or other types of shopping venues. It would serve as a good second car or a single person car. The Trax is a five-door utility vehicle that is similar to the Chevrolet Spark, which is sold in Asia. The front plate on the Trax reads “Play the City” with the bold letters of TRAX underneath. It will probably be advertised everywhere it is sold as a great car to maneuver city driving, which in very large cities with narrow streets and a lot of traffic and congestion can be very tedious. The 2013 Chevrolet Trax features ten standard airbags with available on-demand All-Wheel-Drive (AWD). The Trax comes with a standard turbo-charged ECOTEC 1.4 liter engine. The interactive sound system is excellent. All LT models and LTZ models come with a CD player, MP3 and Bluetooth. Horsepower for the Trax is 138 horsepower with 148 lb-ft of torque. Fuel efficiency is excellent boasting 30 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the open highway. For extra fuel efficiency AWD drive can revert to two-wheel drive according to driving terrain. Although the Trax is touted as a good car for city travel, it also works well for some adventure travel and is good on ice, snow and sleet. However, when driving gets hairy, the car may only do 27 mpg, which is still good fuel efficiency considering the rougher travel. The Trax can easily seat five persons with their baggage. The rear seats are 60/40 flip-and-fold, and the passenger seat folds flat giving the car a lot of storage space—about 48.4 cu. ft., which can be plenty of room for hockey sticks, snowboards or other sports gear. According to whatcar.com, a website for UK drivers, the Chevrolet Trax is “fundamentally the same car as the Vauxhall Mokka” and therefore can come equipped with three different types of engines — a 1.6 liter petrol, a 1.4 liter turbo petrol, or a 1.7 liter diesel. On this website there are a few negative items regarding the Trax but before introduction into the UK, these items will be modified for UK drivers. The 2013 Chevrolet Trax appears to be a great little car for city travel in Canada, the UK, Mexico and 140 foreign countries. The US may not be ready for the Trax; test-touring the vehicle at auto shows will determine that.
